Cuckoo Nest - Part (ii)

Sunday was not a good day. I spent most of the day wrestling with my own inner dialogue...

It started with an innocent compliment "You've got nice shoulders" said the boy, "I know you don't wear strapless stuff often but you look nice".

Huh. Nice "Whaddayameannice?" "Nice as in better than straps??" squeaked an alien voice. The boy looked scared, and backed away.

Because tails won. And tails was not strapless. My head was confused and the more I thought about it the worse it got.

You should have gone with the strapless dress.

But you LIKE the straps.

The boy has a point, strapless is flattering
. You picked the wrong dress.

So? You LIKE the dress. And technically, you didn't pick it.

The dress is horrible. You have just spent a teeny fortune on a dress that will make you look fat.

You are not fat. I will accept funny-looking, but not fat.

You should join bridal bootcamp. And get lipo.

You have always simultaneously made fun of, and pitied, crash dieters. SHUT UP.

  1. Oh, the inner dialogue. It just thrives on difficult decisions like this, eh?

I'm sure you made the right choice, though, and you're going to look fantastic. These things just seem to have a way of working out right.

  2. I've been wondering which one you picked! You're going to look gorgeous, it's a beautiful beautiful dress!

Oh how I love the inner dialogue.

  3. That inner dialogue. Very familiar. I keep wondering whether my dress decision is right (despite the fact that I bought it and it is currently being altered a little to fit my lower back). So much so in fact that I keep looking at other dresses. And wondering why the only ones I like look very much like the one I have...

    What did you pick?

  4. Cate & Peonies -
Thanks for the sweet comments. To look lovely would be nice but I'd happily settle for okish!

    Rachel -
I went for the Pronovias Ronda. I did have pictures up before when I was trying to decide between that and another dress but I took them down to stop the boy seeing them!

You should be able to google it if you want to see it.

I love that you're recycling a dress, can't wait to see how it turns out!
